The Sunyanimanhene, Odeefour Ogyeamansan Boahen KorKor II, has visited the fire-ravaged Circuit Court B and District Magistrate Court B in Sunyani, following the recent blaze that disrupted judicial operations in the area.
The traditional ruler, accompanied by key members of the Sunyani Traditional Council, toured the affected facilities to assess the extent of damage and express solidarity with staff of the Judicial Service.
Among the delegation were Nana Boadi Akrofa II, Adontenhene; Nana Asante Krobea, Twafuorhene; Nana Addai Mununkum, Sunyanitifihene; Nana Appiah Kubi, Akyempimhene; and Mr. Ransford Antwi, Chairman of the Sunyani Customary Land Secretariat.
They were received by officials of the Judicial Service of Ghana, led by Justice Joyce Boahen, the Supervising High Court Judge for the Bono, Bono East, and Ahafo Regions.
Other officials present included Mr. Charles Baido, Director of Court Services; Mr. Noble Notifafa, Director of ICT; Mr. Ablade Cyllis, Director of Estate; Mr. Ernest Boakye, Regional Administrative Officer for Ahafo Region; and Ms. Josephine Ehuren, Regional Administrative Officer for Bono Region.
Addressing the gathering, Odeefour Ogyeamansan Boahen KorKor II conveyed his sympathies to affected staff and underscored the critical need to restore court operations without delay.
He stressed that no society can achieve sustainable development without an effective and functioning justice system.
In a show of commitment, the Sunyanimanhene, together with the Nananom, pledged financial support towards the reconstruction of the damaged court facilities.
The council also committed to funding the installation of CCTV systems to enhance security once the rebuilding process is completed.
He further appealed to residents of Sunyani, particularly business leaders, investors, and corporate organisations, to contribute to the reconstruction effort, describing it as a collective responsibility.
The traditional ruler also called on the Ghana Police Service to expedite investigations into the cause of the fire, to pave the way for the prompt rebuilding of the courts.
