Renowned security analyst Richard Kumadoe has launched a scathing attack on the New Patriotic Party (NPP), dismissing their criticisms of the government’s recent mass disqualifications in the security services recruitment exercise.
In a fiery phone interview on Accra FM, Kumadoe didn’t mince words, suggesting the opposition party lacks the moral authority or intellectual “wisdom” to offer advice on national security matters.
The controversy stems from the NPP’s vocal disapproval of the disqualification of thousands of applicants seeking enrollment into various security agencies.
However, Kumadoe argues that the NPP’s track record during their own time in power disqualifies them from the conversation.
”My brother, we are not taking advice from the NPP people,” Kumadoe stated sharply.
“They have no wisdom in their head; they are the ones who bastardized the system.”
He questioned the logic of seeking counsel from a group he claims eroded the integrity of state institutions during their tenure.
“In their time, the things they did is that something you want to go to them and say, ‘give us advice’?” he challenged the host.
While Kumadoe was quick to dismiss the opposition, he was equally critical of the Minister of Interior, Hon. Muntaka Mubarak.
He accused the Minister of providing the opposition with “ammunition” through poor communication, leading to labels like “AI Ponzi scheme” and “scam” being leveled at the recruitment process.
Kumadoe argued that security agencies not under the direct thumb of the Ministry are conducting recruitments without issue.
He urged the Minister to “shut up” and let the professional agencies manage the process according to established benchmarks, suggesting that the current chaos should serve as a lesson for next year’s intake.
Kumadoe maintains that while the high volume of applications means not everyone can be selected, the public outcry has been exacerbated by political interference and problematic statements from leadership.
He insists that for the integrity of the security services to be restored, the recruitment process must be insulated from those he deems responsible for its past “bastardization.”
